There is more than one light

The three types of light form the basics of lighting design. If you know them, you can create the right atmosphere in any room. The following applies: diffuse light for uniform basic illumination, indirect light for atmospheric accents on walls and ceilings, and direct light for reading or work. Sounds quite simple, doesn't it? Then let's take a closer look.

Diffuse light

WHAT WE CAN LEARN FROM A CLOUDY SKY

Diffuse or widespread light always occurs in nature when sunlight is refracted by clouds or fog. You can also use this effect for your home and illuminate rooms particularly evenly. With a minimal shadow effect and few perceivable details.

Direct light

I MADE YOU LOOK

This type of light only knows one way – and that is the direct way. It is therefore particularly suitable for skilfully highlighting architectural details, interesting surfaces, or works of art. This highly focussed light is ideal for directing the eye towards specific objects or areas.

Indirect light

WE LOVE THAT COZY FEELING

When a café becomes our favourite, it's not just because of the fluffy muffins. The warm and inviting atmosphere also plays a key role. And the best way to create this is with indirect light, which is distributed through the room from the wall or ceiling. Also perfect for the living room or bedroom.
